Combat Systems Cyber Engineer

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Combat Systems Cyber Engineer to design, analyze, and secure advanced combat systems for critical national security missions. In this role, you will develop cyber-resilient architectures, perform vulnerability and threat analyses, and integrate protections into complex naval and defense systems. Working in APL's collaborative, mission-driven environment, you will prototype and model system behaviors, support testing and evaluation, and partner with government sponsors and multidisciplinary experts to deliver innovative, ethical, and operationally relevant solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cyber-resilient architectures for combat systems
• Perform vulnerability analysis, threat modeling, and risk assessments
• Develop and test prototypes, simulations, and system models
• Integrate cyber protections into complex defense and naval systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and government sponsors
• Produce technical documentation, reports, and briefings
• Support system validation, testing, and cyber assessments
