Johns Hopkins APL seeks a Sr. Radar Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and evaluate advanced radar and RF sensor systems for national security and space missions. You will develop concepts, models, and algorithms; perform signal processing and performance analysis; and support system integration, test, and field evaluation. Collaborating with multidisciplinary experts, you'll translate mission needs into system requirements, present findings to sponsors, and contribute to innovative, ethical research that advances critical national and global missions while supporting your professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze advanced radar and RF sensor systems for defense and space missions
- Develop system concepts, models, and performance simulations
- Create and refine signal processing and tracking algorithms
- Perform requirements analysis and translate mission needs into system specifications
- Support integration, lab evaluation, and field testing of radar systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and research domains
- Document technical findings and present results to sponsors and stakeholders
- Contribute to innovative, ethical research aligned with APL's mission
