Athletic Technician

Serve as Athletic Technician for Athletics Department.

• Operating the scoreboard and other various scorer's table duties
• Submitting game statistics
• Game and field set-up and tear-down
• Operating photo or video equipment
• Managing social media
• Play-by-Play, color commentary, or public address
• Writing press releases and game recaps
• Performing other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Have strong communication and organizational skills and can work independently.
• Knowledge of college sports and related rules and regulations
• Ability to work and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors
• Ability to learn and perform essential job functions accurately

Scheduling Requirements: Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or normal office hours Physical Demands: This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met. However, there may be times where additional lifting is required to set-up materials and display equipment at outreach events. Work Environment: Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.

Other: Based upon the budgeted hours of a position, contribution to the Maryland State Retirement Pension System may be required.
