New York, NY (125th Street) - Salary Range: $21.98/hr - $32.97/hr

The Universal Banker (UB) serves as a full‑service, single point of contact for Apple Bank clientele, handling monetary and account transactions while providing top‑level customer service in a hybrid role that blends teller and customer service responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging clients professionally and resolving issues promptly. Communicate the features of Apple Bank products and services, identify opportunities to acquire new or additional banking relationships, and refer prospects to licensed representatives of ABS Associates of NY, Inc. as appropriate. Process all teller operations, safeguard cash and negotiable instruments, maintain vault and ATM readiness, and provide required disclosures.

Perform accurate new‑account record keeping, adhere to regulatory, compliance, security, and audit procedures, and mentor new hires. Complete additional duties as requested to support branch operations.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of combined retail banking experience as Teller and Customer Service Representative.
  • General understanding of retail banking operations (risk, compliance, fraud, loss) preferred.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain detailed knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Willingness to be cross‑trained in other branch functions.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to provide solutions to customer issues.
  • Confident, professional, and positive demeanor when interacting with customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong phone etiquette.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Weekend work and extended hours, as well as occasional travel or coverage of neighboring branches, may be required.
  • Visa sponsorship not available.
