Our organization is seeking a skilled temporary professional to support government contracting initiatives by developing compliant, compelling, and competitive proposal responses. The Government Proposal Writer will lead end-to-end proposal development for government agencies, ensuring submissions are accurate, persuasive, and aligned with all requirements.
Government Proposal Writer Details
Contract Length: 5 months, possible extension
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Work Setup: Hybrid; 3 in-office days per week. Tuesday and Wednesday are required, with Monday or Thursday selected as the third in-office day.
Targeted Experience: 3 5 years
Government Proposal Writer Responsibilities
- Prepare responses to requests for information, quotes, bids, and proposals.
- Review complex government-issued RFPs and capture all technical and administrative requirements.
- Draft clear, point-by-point responses that align with evaluation criteria and demonstrate the organization s ability to meet or exceed agency needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Contracting Officers, including drafting formal inquiries, clarifications, and post-submission responses.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to develop proposal content and confirm contract requirement commitments.
- Review final award documents for accuracy against submitted bids and escalate high-risk terms to senior management.
- Ensure submissions comply with corporate legal policies, business requirements, and federal acquisition regulations.
- Experience writing proposals submitted to government agencies; federal proposal experience strongly preferred.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to compile information from multiple sources into a concise, polished written product.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google business applications.
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Technical writing experience.
- Knowledge of wireless products and services.
- Financial and business acumen.
- Legal or contracts background.
