The Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) is currently seeking a highly qualified applicant for the Marketing & Outreach Program Specialist (Community Developer 3G) position, grade G24, in the Office of Transportation.

About the Position

This senior professional-level role focuses on transportation demand management, multimodal transportation, grant development, and program management. Responsibilities include implementing the Commuter Connection grant, overseeing the Bus Marketing and Capital Bikeshare Program, managing the Corporate Membership program, and promoting alternative transportation options such as carpools, vanpools, bicycles, and pedestrian safety programs. The position is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the execution of the Regional Commuter Connection Agreement through the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government in collaboration with neighboring counties and the District of Columbia.
  • Analyze transportation data, reports, and statistics related to rideshare and other transportation programs; enter required information.
  • Investigate and respond to rideshare requests or complaints.
  • Plan and organize tasks to ensure priority complaints and correspondence are handled timely and meet established deadlines.
  • Prepare memoranda, letters, reports, logs, maps, and other graphics related to public rideshare and transportation services.
  • Develop the annual rideshare and employer outreach grant application and scope of services.
  • Administer and implement rideshare/employer outreach grants as well as local bus grants.
  • Communicate with regional partners, employees, and elected officials.
  • Coordinate ADA outreach programs for seniors and the disabled with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Develop strategies to increase transit usage within the County and non-auto driver mode share programs.
  • Make presentations and prepare correspondence, reports, and analysis.
  • Participate as an essential employee in the department’s snow and ice control program and other emergency or special activities as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of responsible community development supervisory work.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.

An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. There is no equivalency for the required supervisory experience.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.
  • Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Successfully pass preemployment checks, which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings.
  • Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee in the department’s snow and ice control program and during other emergency or special activities as assigned. Expected to be on duty during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate or during emergencies.
