The critical care Lead PA will manage a staff of 6 FTEs responsible for 24/7 coverage of an adult medical/surgical ICU. The lead PA will work 2/3 clinical and 1/3 admin time. Work schedule will include days, nights and weekends.
Administrative Responsibilities- Recruitment and hiring
- Preparing work schedules
- Reporting payroll
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Assists with administrative issues
- Supervise and validate staff PA performance.
- Documentation of patient health histories and complete physical examinations
- Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Assess patients’ change in status and institute appropriate interventions
- Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients
- Provide family centered care, communicating with family regarding the changing health care needs of their family members
- Perform approved diagnostic therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient’s clinical status
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Prior Experience in Critical Care required
- Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York
- ACLS/BLS/Infection Control
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care
