Responsibilities
- Friendly conversation and companionship
- Reading aloud, sharing music, or simply being a quiet, comforting presence
- Supporting patients with dementia through grounding, calming activities
- Sitting with patients so caregivers can rest or step away briefly
- Helping patients with legacy activities (letters, stories, photos)
- Providing peaceful presence near end of life as part of an optional vigil team
- Optional specialty roles:
Pet Therapy, Veteran‑to‑Veteran support, or Massage Therapy (if certified) - Volunteers never provide hands‑on care, medication support, or transportation
