Job SummaryResponsible for all patient account functions to include payment posting, cashiering, and document imaging. Performs all duties of Payment Analyst I position. Assists with staff development, payer issue resolution, and acts as department liaison (as needed).
EducationHigh School Diploma required. 2 years of college preferred.
Experience2 - 8 years of experience in a healthcare business office setting.
Other Requirements- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Proficient use of computer skills and applications, to include all Microsoft Office products.
- Extensive knowledge of insurance plans, coverage types and medical terminology.
- Advanced understanding of remittance advice/explanation of benefits.
- Demonstrated understanding of revenue cycle concepts and process flows.
- Maintain knowledge of all payer remittance codes.
- Ability to communicate issues effectively with all levels of staff and departments.
- Work regularly with information restricted to specific persons; discretion and integrity are recognized requirements of the position.
