AboutThe Role
The Recovery Specialist II researches and pursues reimbursement for medical claims that were denied or did not receive contracted payment. The Recovery Specialist II files timely and complete appeals electronically, telephonically or manually in accordance with payer guidelines. Using thorough understanding of payer contracts and claims analysis the Recovery Specialist II determines why the claims were denied or underpaid and requests claims adjudication corrections.
Provides supporting documentation or refers payers to reimbursement agreements for resolution of nonpayment.
CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN MD, PA, DC, VA or WVA.
Key Responsibilities- The Recovery Specialist II researches and pursues reimbursement for medical claims that were denied or did not receive contracted payment.
- The Recovery Specialist II files timely and complete appeals electronically, telephonically or manually in accordance with payer guidelines. Using thorough understanding of payer contracts and claims analysis the Recovery Specialist II determines why the claims were denied or underpaid and requests claims adjudication corrections.
- Provides supporting documentation or refers payers to reimbursement agreements for resolution of non-payment.
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent or High School certificate preferred
- 1-3 years of experience resolving medical billing denials.
