We are hiring for a Direct Service Worker (Contractor) at Leading By Example LLC! Leading By Example, LLC is not just any other mental health agency. Direct Service Workers who work in the Psychiatric Rehabilitative Program (PRP) will deliver community-based services in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Harford County. DSW's who work in PRP will work with minors ages 5-17 and adults who have priority population diagnosis age 18 and up. DSWs who work in PRP must support clients via Rehabilitation Assessments, Individualized Rehabilitation Plans, Leadership Skills Development and Education, Life Skills Development and Education, Social Skills Development and Education, Conflict Management Skills Development, Physical Health Maintenance and Diet Management, Medication Management Education, Education and Vocation Skills Development, and Behavior Management Skills Development and Education.
Compensation & Structure:
This is a 1099 contractor role. Compensation is task-based and paid upon completion of required services, documentation, and training. A full breakdown of the compensation structure will be provided during onboarding. Adult clients receive 6 one hour visits per month - $250 per client. Minor clients receive 3-4 one hour visits per month - $125 per client.
Direct Services:
Complete 3-4 visits per month for minors or 6 visits per month for adults receiving PRP services in office. Engage clients in developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships. Assist clients in creating daily structure that includes opportunities for developing skills necessary for healthy functioning in the community. Implement health promotion and education, therapeutic recreation, cultural enrichment, and independent living skills development activities.
Assist with the development and implementation of rehabilitation, health homes, and therapeutic behavioral plans. Assist clients with developing and maintaining social support networks. Monitor client engagement in services. Connect clients to behavioral and somatic health care services in the community. Able to juggle multiple families/youth, documentation, scheduling, and deadlines. Comfortable communicating with clients, caregivers, providers, and internal team members. Able to assess needs, prioritize services, and creatively problem-solve barriers to care.
Can navigate EHR systems, maintain accurate documentation, and understands the importance of timely documentation and compliance with program standards. Willing to work with multiple systems (schools, courts, therapists, etc.) and contribute to a larger care team. Deep understanding of trauma-informed care and working with diverse, underserved populations. Provide emergency crisis intervention and conflict management to identified clients and families. Has community connections (already knows local resources and providers).
Passion for long-term growth and leadership in the organization. Utilize our electronic health record to schedule visits and intakes and to complete documentation. Participate in weekly supervision and/or training opportunities. Willing to drive clients to and from Saturday group sessions and to certain activities.
