Occupational Therapist
Provides direct patient care in outpatient settings. Demonstrates knowledge of occupational therapy treatment and therapeutic procedures through application in patient care. Effectively applies all occupational therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient needs and physician orders. Completes all required documentation, assists in scheduling, and attends interdisciplinary rounds/committee meetings as assigned.
EducationPosition requires a degree in Occupational Therapy.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Active Maryland License - Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy
ExperienceCertified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred; candidates with substantial hand therapy experience will also be considered.
Must demonstrate competence to provide occupational rehabilitation services by reason of education, training, and experience. New graduates with clinical rotations in an outpatient setting will be considered.
Other RequirementsMaintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
Required to lift and or move more than 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Demonstrated computer skills needed for completion of computerized medical records, billing records, and various other computerized tasks.
