Overview

Full Time, Day Shift, M-F day shift, weekend as needed. Salary Range $33.00 - $48.80

Assumes responsibility for first-line supervision of a section within the laboratory and covers for the Lab Manager. Produces accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated under the supervision of a medical technologist. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of techniques, principals and instruments and their inter-relationships as well as the physiological conditions affecting test results.

• Supervise a laboratory section as a first-line supervisor and cover for the Lab Manager as needed.
• Ensure accurate results across hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other designated areas under the supervision of a medical technologist.
• Maintain and apply knowledge of laboratory techniques, instruments and the physiological factors that affect test results.

Education : Position requires a bachelor's degree or 3-5 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area.

Registration/Certification/Licensure : ASCP, AMT, NCA or equivalent

Experience : Position requires 2-3 years related experience.

Other Requirements : Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
