Emmitsburg Osteopathic Primary Care Center is looking for a dedicated and organized Medical Secretary to join our caring team in Emmitsburg, MD. • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional front desk experience
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner
• Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) and patient files accurately
• Process insurance verifications, referrals, and prior authorizations
• Handle medical billing support, co-pay collection, and patient account management
• Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, and clinical staff

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative training or certification preferred
• Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare administrative role strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EHR systems, medical terminology, and insurance processes
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor with a professional attitude
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced primary care environment
