Athletic Trainer/EMT

The Athletic Trainer/EMT provides rehabilitative care to injured College athletes. Duties include prevention, evaluation, documentation, education, immediate care, referrals, and communication with coaches, athletes and their parents, and faculty and staff.

• Attends home games as needed, for the current Athletic Trainer.
• Administers pre-game taping, treatment and medical care to the home team, as instructed by the current Athletic Trainer.
• Provides taping and medical care to members of the visiting team(s).
• Maintains training room safety and security.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Appropriate state licensure required by governing body
• Must have experience working in an athletic training room and managing athletic injuries, CPR, and first aid.
• Candidates must obtain and maintain CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens.
• As needed medical personnel for home games/matches only. Must have present licensure required for EMT or Athletic Training.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with colleagues and the general public Scheduling Requirements:
Work schedule varies and requires some evening, Saturday, or Sunday work hours depending on need. Physical Demands:
Active and fast-paced environment. The position will require some light lifting (up to 40 pounds) and the movement of equipment  physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to: climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting and sitting. Work Environment:
The worker will be subject to dust, noise, fumes, and odors. The worker will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. Safety equipment will be provided where needed and required to be worn or used. Other:
Based upon the budgeted hours of a position, contribution to the Maryland State Retirement Pension System may be required.
