As part of our growing Sickle Cell Program, you'll receive extensive training and work across every aspect of patient care, including:

• Outpatient Sickle Cell Clinic
• Inpatient Hematology Consult Service
• Infusion Center
• Continuity Care Clinic
• Weekend Telehealth Coverage (grant-supported)
• Cross-training opportunities within additional specialty APP service lines

You'll work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team of hematologists, APPs, nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, pharmacists, and community health workers to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care for individuals living with sickle cell disease
• Evaluate and manage patients presenting in sickle cell crisis
• Perform emergency department and inpatient consultations
• Round on hospitalized patients receiving sickle cell care
• Manage chronic disease and preventive health maintenance
• Coordinate chronic transfusion management
• Provide evidence-based chronic pain management and opioid stewardship
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Prescribe medications and manage refills
• Educate patients and families on disease management and treatment plans
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and community resources
• Collaborate with physicians and specialty teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and quality standards while practicing at the top of your license

• Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Maryland RN and APRN license (or eligible)
• BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)

• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
• NCCPA Certification
• Active Maryland PA license (or eligible)
• BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)

• One year of Sickle Cell, Hematology, Hospital Medicine, Oncology, Internal Medicine, or other relevant acute care experience preferred
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Passion for providing compassionate, equitable patient care
