The Base Supervisor is primarily responsible for the operational oversight of one of JeffSTAT's remote bases. This includes supervising the staff assigned to the base to ensure they complete assigned duties and responsibilities effectively. The Base Supervisor works with other members of JeffSTAT's management team to ensure the broader program goals and objectives are met. The Base Supervisor is scheduled for clinical shifts on the helicopters and ground ambulances.
He or she is responsible for completing the duties and responsibilities listed in the critical care transport nurse job description during scheduled clinical shifts. Completes scheduled air and gound clinical shifts; assists the Operations Manager and Director with the last minute coverage of JeffSTAT personnel who are sick and cannot report to work Manages all aspects of the Air Methods charting system at the assigned base, including troubleshooting, quality assurance, and compliance with corporate standards.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives, including the data collection processes and retrospective chart reviews. Co-chairs the performance improvement committee; conducts PI audits
Coorinates the repair of damaged medical equipment at the assigned base; works with Jefferson Biomed, Network Ambulance, and Air Methods to get this equipment repaired as expeditiously as possible
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/Preferred College Diploma Nursing Additional Training Requirements Associate’s degree in nursing or a diploma from an NLN accredited nursing school
Licensing Requirements Certificates/Licenses/Registration State Registered Nurse Pennsylvania

- Two (2) years experience as a flight nurse in an established flight program
- Three (3) years experience as a critical care nurse (ICU, CCU, ER)
- Strong organizational, inter-personal, and customer service skills
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred
