- Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked
- Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures
- Work with contracted labs for additional tests
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under provider direction and written order
- Partner with care team members to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care
- Perform front desk duties including scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, specialist visits, referrals, check-in, and check-out
- Record accurate and pertinent data in medical records according to documentation guidelines
- Process test results and provide timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as directed
- Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement among eligible patient groups
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care. May vary based on clinic needs
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program
- National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred
Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, including taking vitals, performing blood draws, and administering medications under provider direction. Strong ability to manage medical records, coordinate patient plans of care, and engage with patients effectively.
