** Organization's Summary Statement:
The Office of Human Resource Management invites applicants to apply for a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The Human Resources Associate II will assist with the day-to-day operations of the human resources office. The position will report to the Associate Director.
Salary: $48,138 - $55,000    Benefits:
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, as a University System of Maryland institution and a Maryland State agency, provides a comprehensive benefits package to all regular faculty and  staff. The Office of Employee Benefits provides consultative services and assistance with benefits planning, enrollment, and changes. Eligible employees may participate in a variety of benefit plans including:

• Health insurance, including multiple medical plan options for employees    and dependents offered through the State of Maryland Employee Benefits    Division.  
• Prescription drug, dental, and flexible spending accounts, and vision    coverage   
• Retirement plans: mandatory enrollment in a state pension system or an    Optional Retirement Plan with Fidelity or TIAA, Supplemental Retirement    Accounts (TIAA, Fidelity, or MSRP-Nationwide) with $600 annual state    match, Life Insurance (state sponsored Met Life, USM    sponsored Met Life Plan, life insurance and long-term disability insurance).

• Tuition remission benefits for eligible employees and, subject to USM    policies, spouses and dependents at University System of Maryland    institutions.  
• Non-exempt positions start at 11 days annual per year, sick leave 15 days    per year, personal leave 3 days per year). Overtime, shift-differential and on-    call pay and paid holidays.  
• Employee wellness and support resources and access to the State of    Maryland wellness programs.
Responsibilities:  
• Provide administrative support to Human Resources staff and    management.  
• Oversee bi-weekly payroll check distribution process,   
• Process payments to vendors through Workday and other university    systems.

• Answer telephone calls, emails, and visitor inquiries regarding HR services    and procedures.  
• Maintain confidential employee personnel files and electronic records.  
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.  
• Maintain HR databases and enter employee information accurately.  
• Process personnel actions, employment forms, and other HR    documentation.  
• Order and maintain office supplies and equipment inventory.  
• Assist with payroll-related documentation and recordkeeping.  
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Preferences):  
• One to three years of administrative or office support experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Experience with HR information systems i. e. Workday and electronic    record management     Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  
• Knowledge of office administration and records management.  
• Understanding of human resources practices and procedures.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Professional customer service and interpersonal skills    Physical Demands:  
• May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at    desk.

• May require lifting.  
• Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and    internally.

• Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.#

High School Diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years clerical experience, three years of which must have involved the application of human resources policies and procedures.
