Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a well-established specialty services organization in the DMV region to identify an HR Manager / Talent Acquisition Lead. This individual will serve as the organization's primary HR resource, leading full-cycle recruitment efforts while supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and HR operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, relationship-oriented professional who enjoys supporting a field-based workforce, building processes, and partnering closely with leadership to drive organizational growth.
Responsibilities- Lead full-cycle recruiting for field, operational, and administrative positions.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies and build talent pipelines through networking, referrals, industry organizations, workforce development programs, and other outreach efforts.
- Partner with hiring managers on workforce planning, interviewing, hiring decisions, and onboarding.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns.
- Coordinate onboarding, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Administer employee benefits programs and support annual enrollment activities.
- Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Assist with workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and other employee-related matters.
- Track and report on recruiting activity, workforce trends, and key HR metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership to support organizational growth and workforce planning initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR, recruiting, or HR generalist experience.
- Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruiting and employee relations responsibilities.
- Experience supporting field-based, operational, skilled trades, construction, industrial, manufacturing, or service-oriented work forces preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment compliance, and employee lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS, ATS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience implementing or improving HR systems, processes, and reporting is highly desirable.
