Software Engineer

It is the contract vehicle for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). EIT is MPO’s backbone- platform for all Enterprise users. Data Center & Compute Services is the EIS enabling organization working with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT.

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Review and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
• Provide Help Desk Support; ticket handling/resolution, utilizing JIRA.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience OR high school diploma with 20 years of experience
• Experience scripting with Java using Linux
• Strong background with Docker using Maven
• Proficiency with Git/Gitlab; knowledge and experience with CI/CD and Git Ops Principles
• Experience with Helm, Kubectl, and Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Flux and Kustomize
• Experience with kafka, kyverno and/or minio
• Willingness to learn integration and perform upgrade support of open-source software deployments
• Willingness to learn and do updates for current Golang software

Clearance Requirements:

• Current active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• The candidate must be able to move, carry and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer’s desk. The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
