Aboutthe role
Forterra is seeking a Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer to design, manage, and secure cloud infrastructure supporting autonomous vehicle platforms and enterprise operations. This role will own critical work streams including infrastructure inventory, change management, and security compliance across a multi‑account AWS environment. The ideal candidate has hands‑on AWS experience in a multi‑account organization, strong Terraform skills, and a security‑conscious mindset. Experience in Gov Cloud or FedRAMP environments is strongly preferred.
Whatyou'll do
- Manage and secure AWS infrastructure across multiple accounts (commercial and Gov Cloud).
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, including modules for IAM, networking, compute, and storage.
- Build and maintain an infrastructure inventory for all critical services and accounts.
- Implement change management processes for production infrastructure (source control, review, monitoring).
- Respond to and remediate infrastructure incidents; participate in postmortem reviews.
- Configure and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability for cloud services.
- Support security compliance initiatives (Guard Duty, Cloud Trail, Panther SIEM, Crowd Strike integration).
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity on vulnerability management, patching, and asset tagging.
- Manage cost optimization across AWS accounts, including reserved instances, savings plans, and storage tiering.
- Document infrastructure architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- 3+ years of professional experience managing AWS infrastructure.
- Experience with AWS IAM, VPC networking, S3, EC2, EKS, and Cloud Watch.
- Understanding of networking concepts: VPN, Transit Gateway, DNS, security groups.
- Incident response experience; ability to troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, and network layers.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with AWS Gov Cloud or FedRAMP compliance environments.
- Experience with EKS cluster management (managed node groups, add‑ons).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline infrastructure (Git Lab CI, runners, container registries).
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Watch, or equivalent).
- Experience with SIEM platforms (Panther, Splunk, or equivalent).
- Experience with SSO/SAML integration (AWS IAM Identity Center, Entra ).
- Familiarity with cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, budgets, Fin Ops practices).
- Security certifications (AWS Security Specialty, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent).

The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full‑time, high‑demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra’s overall compensation package.
