Purpose and Objective
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Services Architecture Expert at our Newtown Square, PA location to act as an advisor to the customer with a broad application, LOB or industry understanding.
Expectations and Tasks- Understand the as‑is situation and goals of a customer holistically (e.g. industry, LOB), can translate them into an appropriate business‑driven IT‑roadmap and architecture design based on SAP’s offerings and SAP’s cloud strategy, with a clear focus on customer success.
- Operationalize the customers’ business strategies, identify relevant components, approaches, input, etc. to derive the best possible solution and help our customers reap the increasingly differentiating benefits of our cloud solutions.
- Challenge existing solutions / approaches / concepts, to generate a state‑of‑the‑art and future‑ready outcome.
- Take a step back if required and re‑define the concepts so that a constant improvement is guaranteed (agility in solution design).
- Clarify expectations from various stakeholders, especially in very difficult cases.
- Create a solution which integrates diverse points of views and serve as a starting point for future SAP business.
- Collaborate with customers, partners and SAP teams for the best possible implementation.
- Drive knowledge management and innovation activities based on this experience with customers.
- Document successful approaches, tools etc. and make them available at SAP internally.
- Collaborate and co‑innovate with the respective development teams.
- Fully understand and leverage the capabilities of SAPs technology platform(s).
- Explain and use various Architectural patterns e.g. micro service‑based architecture, reactive architecture, and cloud native.
- Support sales deals by articulating deployment scope, design, roadmap, and estimates.
- Design a to‑be architecture for optimal outcome that support the realization of expected business outcomes.
- Define the strategic, conceptual, and organizational scope for the design of the SAP‑centric IT landscape, especially when customer requirements are very challenging.
- Based on their domain knowledge, develop the business, application, data, technology and enterprise architecture in close collaboration with the customer, considering all aspects of complex and extraordinary situations, to generate delightful solutions for customers.
- Stay up‑to‑date with newest developments driving business and technology trends and use this knowledge to expand the list of the SAP innovation stories with tangible customer engagements.
- Understand their respective role in the overall SAP team and act accordingly.
- Contribute to avoid escalations especially by proactive leadership of the customer and the deployment of an appropriate project and program governance.
- Troubleshoot success critical customer issues related to SAP, independent of their nature.
- Act based on their Architect role in service delivery, as Business Architect, Application (Solution) Architect, Data Architect, Technical Architect or Enterprise Architect.
- Advise and mentor diverse teams, which includes customer, partner, and SAP resources.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Position does require up to 25% domestic and international travel to various, unanticipated customer sites for architecture design, client meetings, and implementation support.
CompensationThe annual base salary range for this position is $138,400 - $235,280. The targeted combined range for this position is $173,000 - $294,100. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
