Senior Linux Systems Administrator
Leidos offers a Senior Linux Systems Administrator position in the Intel Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area. The role is within a small, diverse team providing end-to-end software, systems, and network engineering services to support Integrated Discovery Operations (IDO). The position focuses on leading, evolving, and maintaining a modern Dev Ops architecture based on open‑source technology to support software developers and mission operations.
Job SummaryThe LOE program delivers rapid prototyping, new development, and advanced technology research to meet mission needs. The candidate will help improve availability, reliability, latency, and performance while maintaining security posture.
Job Responsibilities / Qualifications- Design, maintain, and support operations and maintenance of a large enclave comprising server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs. Develop and carry out strategies to migrate customers to new architecture with minimal impact; evaluate new technologies for agency standard solutions.
- Perform network administration: install, configure, and maintain network devices; configure routing protocols, troubleshoot multi‑hop connectivity, throughput, and latency; set up firewalls. Responsible for secure infrastructure, vulnerability corrections, data security, compliance, and backup/recovery.
- Maintain system security and compliance through SSPs, STE/STN requirements via RMF, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM.
- Provide user‑level support, resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues and anomalies.
- Document enclave: network diagrams, system names, IP addresses, barcodes, and provide monthly activity reports including system outages.
- Deploy and maintain nginx; use system monitoring platforms such as OpenVAS, Prometheus, and Grafana; work with SELinux and FIPS.
- Use Latte Art/Biscotti, Netseer, SEAR logging.
- Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or equivalent. - Security Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with polygraph. - Desirable
Skills:
Docker, MongoDB, Elastic Search;
Ansible and Git Lab;
Red Hat Satellite; software‑defined network knowledge.
Competitive compensation with a pay range of $116,350 to $210,325.
