Ready to make an impact? We’re looking for a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Cyber Missions team in Laurel, MD. In this role, you’ll support and enhance a cutting‑edge cloud platform built with Java and powered by open‑source technologies such as Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo

As a key member of our Operations Team

You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, support mission‑critical systems, and assist customers with hands‑on technical expertise. What You’ll DoSupport cloud‑based systems built on Kubernetes, Hadoop, and other open‑source technologies
Ensure the operational stability of mission‑critical platforms
Provide Tier 1–3 support
, including participation in a rapid on‑call rotationWork a mid‑shift schedule
, including Fridays and SaturdaysTroubleshoot and resolve issues in Linux environments
Collaborate with a highly skilled team to continuously improve system reliability and performance
Strong background in Linux troubleshooting
Experience with or knowledge of:
- Docker
, Kubernetes
, Hadoop - Scripting with Python and Bash
- Docker
Bonus experience with any of the following:
- Prometheus, Grafana
- JIRA
- HDFS
- Salt / Ansible
- Virtualization technologies
- Open Stack
- AWS

Qualifications- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
. Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field.
- An additional 2 years of work experience can be substituted in lieu of this degree requirement
5 years of relevant experience
, including:- 5 years of Red Hat/CentOS (command line, provisioning/kickstart).
- 5 years of Linux/Unix networking (nmap, tcpdump, firewalls).
- 2 years of Red Hat DNS administration (DNS, host files, DHCP).
Proficiency in Bash, Python, and configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet).
Experience monitoring and troubleshooting cloud‑based Linux systems, especially large Hadoop/Accumulo clusters.
Ability to diagnose and upscale network, data flow, and system issues.
- 8570 IAT Level I+ certification required (Security+ preferred)
Must have one of the following certifications prior to start:
- AWS Dev Ops Engineer – Professional
- CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
