Job #: 3032677 Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Senior Systems Engineer (VDI) with one of our DoD/ Government clients. This will be a ‘6-month contract to hire’ opportunity. You’ll work 5 days onsite each week in Ft. Meade, Maryland.

Onsite expectation: 5 days onsite per week
Clearance Level: Top Secret / SCI Contract Rate: $65-75 / Hourly on W2 Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:

• Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI is required for this position.

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or 12+ years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with expertise in at least one.

• Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices

• Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ ce
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Provide Senior level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.

• Lead as the Subject Matter Expert on all VDI related issues/needs.

• Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages.

• Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.

• Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.

• Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products.

• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

• Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.

• Application of security settings and other commercial best
