Joint Base Anacosta-Bolling (JBAB), Washington DC - 100% on site (with ad-hoc telework)
ShiftCore hours: 6 am - 6 pm; 9 am - 5 pm (M-F);
After hours support - Required (Duty phone will rotate between team members).
- Requires a current 8140 IAT Level II (Intermediate or Advanced) certificate (Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) /Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security)
- Active DOD Secret clearance
- Monitor data or infrastructure system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues.
- Identify issues or problems and resolve as appropriate; escalates when necessary.
- Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate.
- Initiate resolution as appropriate for enterprise level routers and switches.
- Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
- Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI’s) as directed by management.
- Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements.
- Support special projects and day-to-day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead.
- Support on-call rotation schedule.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5+ years of related experience, additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Currently possess an Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Requires a current 8140 IAT Level II (Advanced) certificate (Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) /Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security).
- Expert knowledge with LAN switching, including Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, Spanning Tree, and Layer 2 and 3 switching configurations.
- Expert knowledge with Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.) and best practices on implementation.
- Expert knowledge with L1/L2 network troubleshooting (Unclassified and Classified).
- Expert knowledge of DoD network and application security hardening requirements.
- Experienced with programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting encryption devices at network points of presence including management via GEM-X or other DoD management tools.
- Experienced with DoD COMSEC management processes and procedures.
- Experienced with Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA.
- Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR.
- Experienced working at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB).
