Systems Architect

GovCIO LLC is seeking a Systems Architect to support mission-critical Defense & Aerospace programs within our IT & Cybersecurity division. In this role, you will design and optimize secure, scalable enterprise architectures for federal customers, aligning systems, networks, and cloud solutions with stringent cybersecurity and compliance requirements. You will collaborate with engineers and cyber analysts, guide technology roadmaps, and ensure interoperability across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure, scalable end to end system and solution architectures for Defense & Aerospace federal customers.
• Translate mission and business requirements into technical roadmaps, reference architectures, and implementation plans.
• Define interfaces, data flows, and integration patterns across applications, networks, security tools, and cloud/on premise environments.
• Embed cybersecurity by design, partnering with cyber security analysts and engineers to implement zero trust principles and security best practices.
• Ensure architectures comply with federal and Do
• D standards, including NIST RMF, FISMA, and related cybersecurity and accreditation requirements.
• Lead technical design reviews, architecture governance discussions, and provide technical decision support to stakeholders.
• Evaluate and recommend COTS/GOTS products, cloud services, and security technologies to meet mission needs.
• Support system modernization and migration to cloud or hybrid environments using Dev

• Ops and infrastructure as code practices.
• Produce clear architecture artifacts, including diagrams, standards, patterns, and documentation for technical and non technical audiences.
• Collaborate in troubleshooting complex system and security issues and support incident response and root cause analysis when architectural changes are required.
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts in system design, security architecture, and modern engineering practices.
