Cloud Network Engineer 2
Designs, implements and supports cloud network architectures and hybrid connectivity patterns for cloud hosted systems. Develops infrastructure as code (IaC) network deployments, implements segmentation and routing strategic, supports cloud migration activities, and performs advanced troubleshooting across cloud and on-prem network dependencies. Coordinates with system administrator's security personnel, and application teams to ensure cloud network services meet availability, performance, and compliance requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud network architectures including segmentation, routing, ingress/egress patterns, load balancing, and name resolution patterns consistent with program requirements.
- Implement hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments (VPN, dedicated circuits, transit gateways/hubs, shared services VPCNNet patterns) and validate end-to-end connectivity.
- Implement network security controls in cloud environments (security groups/NSGs, network ACLs, firewall policy integration where applicable) in coordination with security requirements.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for cloud networking (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation, ARM/Bicep) and support repeatable deployments across environments (Dev/Test/Prod as applicable).
- Plan and execute migration network activities to support moving workloads from traditional servers to cloud systems (IP plan updates, routing/DNS cutovers, dependency mapping, phased migration connectivity).
- Perform advanced troubleshooting for complex cloud/hybrid issues (routing asymmetry, MTU, DNS, identity-driven access, load balancer behavior, firewall policy effects) and document root cause and corrective actions.
- Maintain cloud network diagrams, configuration baselines, change records, and operational runbooks in editable formats
Security Clearance Required :
- TS/SCI w/poly
Minimum Education :
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate's degree (or 8 semester hours of military coursework/training in a computer-related field) and nine (9) years of relevant experience; OR
- High school diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of relevant experience.
Required
Certifications:
- Certification Required at beginning of performance or within 6 months of staffing:
One cloud networking certification such as: AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty OR Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) OR CompTIA Security+ CE OR equivalent."
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with VMware NSX is preferred
Compensation Details:
$170000 - $220000
