U.S. Naval Intelligence Activity is hiring an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GG-13 level to help protect cyber environments at the Hopper Global Communications Center in Suitland, MD
. This National (MD) onsite role supports the planning, deployment, and continuous improvement of cyber protective tools and security solutions, with a federal benefits package available based on position type and appointment status.

Salary: USD 132, per year
Location: National, MD (onsite)
Experience: 1+ years
Security: Top Secret clearance and SCI access required

What you will do
  • Install, configure, administer, maintain, and tune a multitude of cyber protective tools
    .
  • Create content and correlate events to mine data for overlooked attack vectors and unknown vulnerabilities using custom scripts or GUI interfaces.
  • Perform digital forensics to identify security and/or policy violations.
  • Support project management by coordinating with other departments and external companies to shepherd procurement.
  • Handle the full lifecycle for new or replacement cyber security solutions, including planning, design/development, integration/testing, installation, and documentation
    .
Required qualifications

  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required; the position is subject to random testing
    .
  • Acknowledge in writing acceptance of an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service), which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
    .
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position; obtain and maintain the credentials described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 511 level 02 within 12 months of appointment.
  • Travel from the normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS may be required, including remote or isolated sites; ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods is required.
  • A 2-year DCIPS trial period may be required.
  • This position may be subject to polygraph examination
    .
  • Shift work may or may not be required, including 24-hour/7-day operations with rotating shifts from 9 to 13 hours
