Position Summary
Arranges and manages spoken-language and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services to support claimant examinations and ensure equitable access to the disability determination process.
Key Responsibilities- Identify claimant interpretation needs at the time of scheduling and arrange qualified spoken-language or ASL interpreters accordingly.
- Notify the District within 30 minutes if interpreter services cannot be provided at the scheduled appointment time.
- Reschedule appointments and/or notify the District when in-person (rather than remote) interpreting is required.
- Maintain a roster of qualified interpreters across languages commonly encountered in the claimant population.
- Track interpreter utilization and costs for reporting and invoicing purposes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience coordinating language access or interpreter services strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ADA/Title VI language access requirements.
- Strong vendor management and scheduling coordination skills.
