As a Walmart Low‑Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities by setting up and configuring various low‑voltage systems (security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, and network cabling).

Live Better U is a Walmart‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time field associates at Walmart and Sam’s Club. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language and short‑form certificates. Tuition, brochures and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Essential Functions
  • Sets up and configures various low voltage systems.
  • Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs regular maintenance checks, identifies and resolves issues to minimize downtimes, and fixes faults.
  • Provides technical support and training to end users, addressing inquiries professionally.
  • Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follows all safety guidelines; maintains accurate records, generates reports, evaluates systems for upgrades, performs upgrades.
  • Works closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers for successful project completion.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to understand needs and provide solutions, staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Leads and participates in teams, coordinating work assignments, providing advice, feedback, and support to achieve timelines and quality.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with stakeholders, monitoring progress, and addressing improvement opportunities.
  • Promotes compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, implementing related action plans.

Technician Physical Activities
  • Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment.
  • Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects; moves ladder, stairs, carries up to 50 lbs.
  • Observes behavior, reaches overhead and below knees, bends, twists, pulls, stoops.
  • Safely operates motor vehicle and large power equipment; sits, squats, kneels, crawls for extended periods; stands long periods.
  • Visually inspects equipment, locates merchandise, creates documents, presents information.
  • Moves through narrow, confined spaces such as stacks, storage areas, closets.
Travel
  • Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring consecutive overnight stays.
  • Works or trains at multiple facilities or distant locations.
  • Travel of extended duration (seven days or more) is not required, except for management training and emergency situations.
