The VWT Sanitation Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the Vallarta Warehouse and Transportation (VWT) facility. This position is responsible for cleaning warehouse floors, restrooms, docks, offices, and break areas, while ensuring compliance with OSHA, health, and safety standards. The Sanitation Clerk supports operational efficiency and safety by promoting a clean and hazard-free environment while modeling Vallarta’s six core values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.

• Smile and greet all vendors and team members while delivering extraordinary customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break areas, offices, aisles, docks, parking lots, and other assigned areas.
• Clean restrooms twice daily and restock supplies.
• Sweep and scrub all floor areas using the warehouse scrubbing machine.
• Remove empty pallets from primary locations and properly store them.
• Dispose of all trash from office and warehouse bins into large dumpsters.
• Bale all loose cardboard and plastic as needed.
• Complete daily checklists for scrubber maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Clean spills promptly to prevent safety hazards.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or hazardous materials immediately to the Supervisor, Shift Lead, or HR/Safety.
• Ensure pest control systems are functioning properly.
• Comply with all CAL/OSHA regulations, health codes, and company sanitation policies.
• Follow company safety policies and promote safe equipment usage.
• Abide by Vallarta’s team member handbook and policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Standing, walking, and bending (neck/waist) constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
• Occasionally twisting (neck/waist), squatting, kneeling, and reaching above/below shoulders.
• Frequent use of hands for pulling/pushing, manipulation, and constant grasping.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally (use buddy system for 51+ lbs.).
• Heaviest item required to carry: 75 lbs. (longest distance: 15 ft.).
• Operate scrubbers, forklifts, and manual pallet jacks as required.
• Work near equipment/machinery exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures/humidity.
• No work at heights required.

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Capable of operating an electric floor scrubber and basic cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to shift priorities quickly and maintain a professional, respectful demeanor.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Basic understanding of English language.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Warehouse environment with exposure to perishable products, dust, and cleaning chemicals.
• Frequent exposure to noise, temperature changes, and machinery.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented, and safety-conscious workplace.
• Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
