SP Industries Inc., an ATS company, is excited to announce an opening for a dynamic Site Leader in Pocomoke, MD! This is a high-impact role for a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives on driving performance, elevating teams, and creating a culture where safety, quality, and operational excellence come first.
Position SummaryThe Site Leader is responsible for the overall performance, culture, and strategic direction of the Pocomoke manufacturing facility within the Laboratory Consumables business. This high-impact role holds full accountability for Safety, Quality, and On-Time Delivery (OTD) while championing the deployment and sustainment of the ATS Business Model (ABM) as the site s operating system.
As a key member of the Laboratory Consumables leadership team, the Site Leader is a visible, hands-on presence on the shop floor, coaching teams, solving problems, and fostering a culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
What You Will DoLead Safety, Quality & Delivery Performance
- Establish and reinforce a zero-harm safety culture through visible leadership, clear standards, and active engagement.
- Ensure consistent delivery of customer commitments by driving effective planning, disciplined execution, and rapid issue resolution.
- Build quality into every process to prevent defects and ensure compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Deploy the ATS Business Model (ABM)
- Lead sitewide adoption of ABM, including daily management, visual performance tracking, and structured problem-solving activities.
- Create clarity around priorities and expectations, enabling teams to understand how their work drives business results.
- Sustain a culture of continuous improvement with standardized processes and disciplined execution.
Drive Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Apply lean principles to improve flow, eliminate waste, and increase operational reliability.
- Guide teams in root-cause problem-solving, leveraging data for decision-making and process optimization.
Develop People & Build Culture
- Be a visible, approachable leader who engages employees at every level.
- Coach, mentor, and develop leaders and frontline teams to strengthen problem-solving and execution capabilities.
Business Leadership & Analytics
- Own site performance metrics, leading operating reviews and using data to drive accountability and improvement
- Partner cross-functionally to align site performance with broader Laboratory Consumables business strategy.
What Success Looks Like (First 9-12 Months)
- Measurable improvements in safety performance and employee safety engagement.
- Sustained improvement in OTD and quality metrics such as reduced defects, rework, and customer complaints.
- Strong, consistent execution of daily management and problem-solving routines.
- Increased engagement, ownership, and alignment across the workforce.
- A capable, aligned leadership team with strengthened talent pipeline and clear succession plans.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading a manufacturing site or a large operational organization.
- Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, and delivery performance.
- Experience deploying lean manufacturing and structured continuous improvement systems.
Preferred
- Advanced degree (MBA or MS).
- Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or consumables manufacturing.
- Strong business and analytical skills, including KPI management and performance reporting.

All managers are responsible for creating a positive safety culture and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. It is the responsibility of each manager to ensure that employees receive regular training regarding health, safety and environmental matters. Each manager is also accountable to ensure that HSE matters are addressed in a timely manner and that compliance with both legislative and corporate requirements are maintained.
Manager responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
- Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process
- Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained
- Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements
