Position Summary
Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation: accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory level cleanliness, assessing economic trends and community needs, overseeing stocking and rotation of merchandise, setting up and organizing product displays, and securing fragile and high‑shrink merchandise. Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, providing feedback, communicating, and collaborating with all levels of associates to ensure smooth store operations.
Utilizes technology and business initiatives to keep merchandising aligned with company direction, introduces and leads change efforts, sets clear expectations, and implements business solutions that communicate objectives to teams. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards through the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, handling complaints and resolving issues, and developing action plans for process improvement.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, and ensuring awareness of recruitment goals. Controls loss of merchandise, improves profitability, identifies performance goals, and monitors inventory through audits and variance reviews. Conducts operational and pre‑inventory reviews, gathers audit data, identifies trends, and implements corrective actions. Conducts investigations, writes case reports, testifies in court if needed, and partners with other investigative entities.
Monitors safety and risk controls, supervises safety teams, identifies accident trends, trains associates, implements solutions, and oversees safety reviews. Manages claims and receiving operations, ensures compliance with policies, and maintains documentation and reporting. Coordinates job‑related activities and builds relationships with key stakeholders. Promotes company culture, adheres to policies, upholds integrity, and supports the Open Door Policy.
- Completion of 2 years of college.
- 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a multi‑department environment.
- 1 year’s experience in one of the following areas: accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi‑department environment.
- 2 years’ experience in asset protection or related area.
- Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection (e.g., minimum age, specialized training, certification, and/or licensing).
- Acquisition of a current, state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility (if applicable).
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training (if applicable).
- Attendance and successful completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certification in an asset protection related field (e.g., Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
- Investigative experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00–$. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges)
