- Directs all production activities through the Production Supervisors and serves as the back up to the Plant Manager.
- Plans department expense budget, maintains cost control and leads cost improvement projects.
- Supervises Production Supervisors, approves departmental operating procedures and ensures implementation of the Company’s Quality Management System.
- Monitors labor and material variances, regrind levels and overall production efficiency.
- Maintains employee welfare, conducts subordinate training and discipline, and develops production personnel.
- Provides leadership in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency throughout the department.
- Determines optimal workforce utilization based on production demands and recommends more efficient methods of operation.
- Conducts daily production meetings and communicates with all departments to direct support group activities.
- Consults with the Engineering department on mold revisions, improvement projects, new products and CAPEX projects.
- Optimizes budget expenses, controls raw materials and finished goods, and adheres to Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
- Assists in preventing nonconforming product from being shipped to customers and initiates action to prevent occurrences of any non‑conformity of product or quality systems.
- Suggests actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and ensures implementation of solutions.
- Tracks, confirms and verifies training for employees in the department and schedules training as needed.
Compensation – $110,000/yr–$130,000/yr
