Summary
Provides shipping and receiving to support projects, maintains inventory control, operates warehouse equipment, and participates in warehouse maintenance and cleaning. Work is performed with a high degree of independence.
Responsibilities- Receives, stores, and issues material and supplies to project sites.
- Loads and unloads supplies, material and equipment, places incoming supplies on shelves or in assigned areas, and climbs ladders to stock shelves while keeping the warehouse facility orderly and safe.
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site, performing tasks such as reading work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Opens containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, wheelbarrows, forklifts, or other devices.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination using hand-operated cranes or hoists, or signals crane or hoisting operators.
- Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together using banding machines and clinchers.
- Clamps sections of portable conveyors together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoists and cleans work area, machines, and equipment using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.
- Assembles crates to contain/ship products such as machines or vehicles using hand tools and pre-cut lumber.
- Shovels loose materials such as gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into wheelbarrows, scrap trucks, or barrels.
- May occasionally operate forklift, truck, or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Observes and complies with all safety and project rules.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record within company-established parameters.
- Age 18 years or older.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- 0–2 years of experience.
