Job SummaryThe Industrial Engineer will focus on optimizing production systems, workflows, and labor utilization to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure cost-effective manufacturing. This role will analyze data, design layouts, and develop standard work processes to achieve productivity and quality targets across the plant. The Industrial Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow mapping to optimize production processes.
- Develop labor standards and implement work measurement systems.
- Design and improve plant layouts for material flow, safety, and productivity.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives and present ROI analyses for capital improvement projects.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, etc.).
- Partner with Production to identify and remove process bottlenecks.
- Assist in planning production schedules and resource allocation.
- Support implementation of automation and technology improvements.
- Monitor KPIs (OEE, throughput, scrap rates) and drive corrective actions.
- Train employees on process changes and standard work procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or process improvement.
- Experience with CAD and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies required (Green Belt preferred).
- Experience in transformer or heavy equipment manufacturing.
