POSITION OVERVIEWReporting to ELSCO's Inside Sales and Customer Service Manager, the Order Fulfillment Specialist has overall responsibility for picking, packing and preparing orders for shipment. Also views and prints documents and labels and completes shipping entries in the system. Additionally, the Order Fulfillment Specialist is responsible for staging and loading shipments.
Job Duties- Picks packs and prepares orders for safe and accurate shipping. Responsible for confirming shipping details and paperwork.
- Utilizes ERP system to pull and ship orders.
- Uses shrink wrap machine and banding machine to palletize orders.
- Accurately labels outgoing orders with the correct shipping carrier information.
- Works closely with the traffic coordinator to ensure timely shipment and on time delivery to our customers.
- Safely operates the forklift and pallet jack to pull, prepare and stage shipments. Maintains the rotation of the finished goods stored in the warehouse.
- Act as backup for essential Traffic Coordinator duties as needed - coordinates freight (prepares shipping documents and schedules with carriers).
- Maintains a clean, safe, organized work station.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Well-qualified candidates will have the following experience, capabilities, and traits:
- High School Diploma
- 3 or more years shipping or packing experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Highly detail oriented, must have data entry experience and intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to do basic math routinely throughout the day.
- Ability to use hand/power tools.
- Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. repetitively and up to 70 lbs. with lift assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to work an alternate shift as required.
- Additional experience, knowledge, and skills preferred
- Experience with Fed Ex or UPS Processing.
- Experience operating Electric Pallet Jack and/or Forklift equipment.
- Frequent standing or walking up to 8
-10 hours a day. - Lifting of 35-50 lbs. up to 75% of the time.
- Repetitive hand and wrist motion used 100% of the workday using the computer, forklift and shrink wrap machine.
- Hearing is required to run machinery such as the forklift and pallet jack and is used up to 85% percent of the time.
- Visual acuity required to check packages and execute order picking.
- Frequent verbal communication is required between team members.
This is a contract to hire position. Benefits are offered upon full-time hire.
