Imaging Operator ; HP Indigo

Job Description

Join our amazing RRD/PCA printing team in Timonium, Maryland. Applicants with digital press or HP Indigo experience are encouraged to apply.

• Use PC to electronically manage image files, review plate images, load images into plate imaging machines, remove plates from the processing line, check for defects, load and bend plates, attach slip sheet, and deliver plate carts to press (40%).
• Adjust RIP reproduction curve and register, unpack pallets of printing plates, recycle or dispose of packing materials, and communicate missing materials to personnel (20%).
• Handle production schedules, reprints, and back up other departments as needed (20%).
• Maintain accurate records, replenish processor chemistry, perform preventive maintenance on equipment, and report defects (10%).
• Perform basic quality assurance tasks such as checking CIVs, boxing samples, documenting shipping of samples, pulling color samples for color watch folders, and handling revisions (10%).

Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Experience: 0–2 years relevant experience (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Ability to read, interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively to customers and employees.
• Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, percent, and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems with several concrete variables.

Equipment/Software Utilized:

• Computer skills: manufacturing software, Excel, and Microsoft Word.

Communication and Decision Making:

• Effectively communicate and interact with team members, leadership, other departments, and external contacts; present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
• Prioritize tasks and make decisions with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands /

Working Conditions:

• Regular standing; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Handle large sheets of aluminum (5.5’ x 3.75’ x 0.016”).
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals requiring special handling, electrical shock; noise level typically moderate to loud.
