About the roleForterra is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metalworking and fabrication techniques, with the ability to read and interpret schematics and to work hand‑on with various fabrication tools and machinery.
What you'll do- Operate machine shop equipment including HAAS CNC Mills (training provided), lathe, drill press, band saw, iron worker media blasting, pedestal grinder, Miller TIG welder, Miller MIG welder, Miller plasma cutter, and angle grinder.
- Paint quality finishes on various materials using a Hot Coat Powder Coat System.
- Use hand tools for dimensional checking (calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, countersink indicators).
- Use basic hand and power tools to complete tasks.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Accredited trade school diploma may substitute for two years industrial experience.
- Three years machine shop or related experience.
- Experience with low‑quantity, high‑diversity parts such as brackets, heat sinks, and electrical enclosures.
- Experience TIG welding aluminum.
- Background in fabricating and welding.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and requirements.
- Willingness to perform or learn all steps of the build process from stock cutting, machining, bending, welding, hardware installation, and painting.
- Creativity in fixturing parts for machining and welding.
- Cross‑checking other team members' parts as needed.
- Familiarity with ISO Standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Safe lifting technique and ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, or lift for long periods.
- Experience with 3D CAD software.
- Experience with CNC machine operation or programming.
US hourly range: $35 — $40 / hour.
LocationOn‑Site:
Clarksburg, MD. Occasional travel may be required.
Occasional night and weekend work may be required.
