Glass Fabrication Shop Associate; CNC & Finishing

General Summary

This is an in‑house position. The primary responsibility is to take an active role in supporting all fabrication functions and positions. This position will assist all other operators as requested by the fabrication supervisor. Specific duties include, but are not entirely limited to: cutting, polishing, fabrication, seam and wash, and tempering glass. May also be asked to assist in special projects.

• Assist in cutting, edging, fabrication, CNC, seaming, tempering, and loading.
• Maintain a clean work environment, including cleaning up breakage, disposing of damaged glass, keeping a clean floor around walking surfaces, and keeping station desks clean and organized.
• Review all glass for quality control standards. Participate in any activity requiring additional help and organize as required.
• Regular cleaning, repair and general maintenance of the machines and coordinate those efforts with our workload and management.
• Expected to be instrumental and responsive to changes in the production schedule as required.
• Shop help will be OSHA 10 certified.

• Must be versatile and work in multiple environments.

• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger‑handle, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
• The employee may exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 50 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. constantly to move objects.
• Vision requirements: clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; clarity of vision at 20 feet or more; ability to identify and distinguish colors; the ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; ability to judge distances and spatial relationships; and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
• Work is performed in a shop environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions and vibration; occasional exposure to humid and extreme non‑weather related cold or hot conditions; frequent exposure to constant very loud sounds sufficient to cause distraction.

Wages: starting at $18/hr.
