Manufacturing Lab Technician Hours
Weekends Friday - Sunday 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
LocationSparks, MD
Contract Duration12 months
Responsibilities- Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products.
- Operates production equipment. Weighs, measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
- Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
- Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization.
- Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex issues associated with scientific operations.
- Creates solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications.
- Provides training support for onboarding and/or new procedures.
- Provides support to the lead/supervisor when necessary.
- Provides continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Must follow all BD housekeeping and safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements.
- High school with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 3 years laboratory experience.
- Associate's degree in a scientific discipline with 2‑3 years laboratory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline plus 1‑2 years laboratory experience.
- Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be detail‑oriented.
- Strong time management skills required.
- Ability to operate independently.
- Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, and perform basic arithmetic.
Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
