In Mapfre Re, the reinsurance company of the MAPFRE Group, we operate with a global presence through 18 offices and business relationships in more than 100 countries, offering comprehensive solutions in the Life and Non-Life sectors. For our Central Services in Madrid, within the General Directorate of Life Business, we are looking to incorporate a Reinsurance Subscriber for Life, Accidents, and Health with a global technical vision of the business, whose main objective will be to provide specialized support to the regions and markets, contributing to technical coherence, excellence in underwriting, and sustainable business development worldwide.
What will be your mission?
Act as a transversal technical reference in Life, Accidents, and Health, supporting regional and local units in technical decision-making, the development of criteria, the underwriting of complex risks, and the implementation of the global strategy defined by the Management.
What will you do in this position?
Technical vision and business governance
Maintain a global, consolidated, and updated vision of the Life, Accidents, and Health business in all regions and markets.
Develop, review, and ensure the correct application of technical criteria, regulations, procedures, and underwriting policies at a global level.
Ensure technical coherence and risk quality in the operations of different markets.
Support to regions and markets
Provide specialized technical support to the Regional Directorates and local underwriting teams in complex operations, special risks, contracts, and strategic programs.
Participate in the technical evaluation and validation of facultative risks and relevant contracts, in accordance with the criteria defined by the Management.
Accompany the regional teams in technical improvement processes, homogenization of practices, and resolution of complex incidents.
Strategy, planning, and analysis
Collaborate in the preparation of the budget, business plan, and strategic planning from a global technical perspective.
Analyze technical results, management indicators, and quality, identifying areas for improvement, market trends, and emerging risks.
Support corporate projects of the area (process optimization, new products, technical models, etc.).
Knowledge, training, and technical reference
Act as a technical reference point within the Life Unit and in front of the Management Centers.
Design and participate in internal technical training actions aimed at regional and local teams.
Maintain an updated and innovative knowledge of the market, participating in technical forums and specialized events (as an attendee or speaker when applicable).
What are we looking for?
Education:
University degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Administration and Management, or other related fields. Specially valued actuarial and specific technical training in Life, Accidents, and Health.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal reinsurance (Life, Accidents, and Health). Experience both in technical underwriting and in the analysis of programs, contracts, and complex risks. Previous experience in international environments or frequent interaction with different markets/regions will be valued.
Languages:
High level of English (C1). Knowledge of other languages, especially French and Portuguese, will be positively valued.
Other requirements:
Analytical capacity, global vision, and technical quality orientation. Ability to work transversally with multiple stakeholders. Availability to travel occasionally.
Competencies:
Knowledge of underwriting, reinsurance, risk analysis and selection, technical advice.
