Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace Business
PPG’s Aerospace Business is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Sylmar, CA. This onsite position reports to the Production Manager and supports transformational projects in transparency assembly.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize and grow manufacturing processes and transition to a single-piece flow pull system for the site commercial final assembly area.
- Lead corrective action events and provide technical oversight for manufacturing processes.
- Redefine routings, labor standards, work instructions, and tooling requirements.
- Evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials in manufacturing process.
- Apply Lean tools (e.g., value stream mapping, time studies) to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Collaborate to resolve production issues and lead strategic improvements.
- Lead engineering and ergonomic projects to enhance employee safety and comfort.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Ability to create clear work instructions for non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or databases.
- Comfortable working both in office and on the production floor.

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
