Evaporator Operator
The Evaporator Operator is responsible for processing trap and wastewater product in an effort to reclaim quality product.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for communicating with the cooker operator and foreman to produce quality product through the evaporator.
- Monitor equipment at start by checking raw material tanks to know percentage of grease to water; make sure system is primed with good grease.
- Logs hourly readings; makes adjustments as necessary to equipment.
- Responsible for shut down of equipment in correct sequence by following proper procedures
- Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
- Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment preferred.
- Good mechanical aptitude & equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Highly organized.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
