The Senior Manufacturing Project Specialist plays a key role in this mission by managing operational activities across assigned manufacturing projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
This role also leads continuous improvement initiatives and capacity optimization efforts to support our long-term operational excellence goals.
Key Responsibilities
:
Leads multi-disciplinary project teams as Functional Lead for all Media manufacturing aspects of assigned area between manufacturing and support services (F&E, MSAT, QA, VAL, SC, etc.) for Media
Responsible for continuous improvement taking the established operational excellence methods into account. Ensures a high level of technical and process standardization within the production plant
Represents Manufacturing as CAPEX project lead in maintenance and growth engineering projects by leverage technical expertise to optimize manufacturing processes
Work with area management and SMEs to assess production process and equipment issues and provide solutions. Provide key data and updates to management.
Manages all cGMP equipment in Media such as scales, balances, mixers, blenders, etc.
Responsible to prepare and execute Quality and Safety risk analysis for the assigned products and the implementation and control of defined measures.
Represent manufacturing on functional sub-teams where appropriate. Provide expertise and operational support to projects (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, etc.).
Is responsible for the documentation of the processes and process Know-How with the corresponding reports according to the asset- or product specific requirements incl. SOP or other documentation as needed
Represent Media Manufacturing unit during customer audits and visits
Perform equipment related investigations, including root cause analysis for adverse events (deviations). Work with area managers and SMEs to determine corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) for root causes identified during investigations. Perform effectiveness checks to ensure non-recurrence of adverse events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations within a GMP-regulated environment (biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred).
Proven experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing complex manufacturing or process improvement projects.
Strong knowledge of cGMP requirements, validation activities (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ), and manufacturing documentation standards (SOPs, batch records, CAPAs).
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement operational excellence methodologies.
Technical expertise with manufacturing equipment such as mixers, blenders, balances, and other process instrumentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting root cause analyses and developing effective CAPAs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and represent manufacturing in audits or customer visits.
Proficient in risk assessment tools and safety/quality compliance processes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
