Primary Purpose

Assists in the management of day-to-day operations for an assigned grain facility by supporting safety, environmental compliance, quality standards, employee development, customer service, and operational performance objectives. Provides leadership and operational support to facility personnel while assisting the Grain Facility Manager in achieving facility goals and maintaining efficient operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support and oversee day-to-day grain facility operations, including receiving, storage, handling, inventory management, grain quality, housekeeping, and loadout activities. Provide direction and support to facility employees to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor grain quality and operational activities to ensure grain is received, stored, handled, and loaded in accordance with quality standards, operating procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Support compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and quality requirements. Coordinate required certifications, including Lockout/Tagout, forklift certification, and other training requirements, ensuring certifications remain current and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Assist the Grain Facility Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of capital improvement, maintenance, and repair projects to support facility reliability, safety, and operational performance.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and support to facility employees. Promote employee engagement, accountability, and retention while ensuring personnel have the resources, training, and tools necessary to perform their work safely and effectively.
  • Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
    • 1 - 3 years' experience in grain operations, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, or related operational environments.
    • Demonstrated leadership potential with the ability to lead and develop employees, provide excellent customer service, and understand operational processes.
    • Ability to quickly learn, apply, and train others on operational procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
    • Mechanical aptitude and basic financial understanding.
    • Strong math, verbal, written, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in relevant computer systems and business applications.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and support day-to-day facility operations.
    • Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions and climb heights up to 150 feet.
