Americorps Member Position With Mission Of Love Charities

The American Connection Corps (ACC), an Ameri Corps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment.

ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities.

Mission of Love Charities is dedicated to providing comprehensive, wrap-around services to homeless and low-income families and individuals. We recognize the severe health, economic, and social challenges faced by those living on the margins of society. Our commitment is to address these critical needs by alleviating food insecurity through essential food supplies, combating housing insecurity with rental assistance and deposit support, and fostering economic stability by offering vital workforce training and development.

We empower individuals and families with the resources and support they need to not just survive but thrive.

The Ameri Corps Member will support staff-led office operations, community outreach, client engagement, and workforce development activities that increase access to services for individuals served by MOLC. Under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program staff, the Member will assist with community outreach, client support, workforce program coordination, and service documentation to help connect community members to available resources and services.

The Member will not perform duties that displace employees, independently manage office operations, or perform general administrative functions unrelated to the approved Ameri Corps service activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support clients by providing program information, connecting them with appropriate staff and services, and assisting with service-related activities under staff supervision.
  • Support staff with planning, implementing, and participating in community outreach events and public engagement activities.
  • Support case managers by assisting with coordinating client visits, collecting information, and helping connect clients to available community resources under staff direction.
  • Assist the Workforce Director with scheduling classes, communicating with participants, supporting attendance tracking, and helping participants remain engaged in workforce and community resource programs under staff direction.
  • Collect and compile service-related data, attendance information, participant feedback, and activity summaries for staff review in accordance with program procedures and Ameri Corps requirements.
  • Answer multiple phone lines within a master console system. Ability to take accurate messages and route all calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Route incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
  • Help prepare conference room and office spaces as needed when guests are expected for meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining an organized, welcoming office environment that supports client services and approved Ameri Corps activities.
  • Participate in required Ameri Corps trainings, supervision meetings, and other approved service activities.
  • Other duties as assigned that are directly related to the approved Ameri Corps position description, program scope, and allowable Ameri Corps service activities.

All functions and activities performed by the Ameri Corps Member are completed under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program and host site staff.

As an ACC Member, you will receive structured training and support throughout your service year, including:

  • A two-week-long virtual orientation with the national cohort to kick off the service year.
  • A week-long, in-person national Winter Institute convening with your ACC cohort — travel, lodging, and a per diem stipend are fully covered.
  • Twice-monthly virtual training on skills for service, including project management, asset-based community development, grant writing, and serving vulnerable populations, plus self-paced curricula with opportunities to earn badges and credentials.
  • A structured community listening tour at the start of service to understand local needs, assets, and opportunities.
  • Dedicated 1:1 support from a Lead For America Program Coordinator and twice-monthly peer pod meetings for networking and professional development.
  • Access to a national network of ACC Members, alumni, and community partners.
