Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-volume, fast-paced ER/Med-Surg/Telemetry border unit. Assesses, monitors, and manages patient conditions, performs specialized procedures, administers medications, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
Job Duties- Care for ED admission patients across MS/Tele, IMC, and ER border units
- Pre/Post cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, post-MI, and post-angiogram care
- Manage IV therapy, central/PICC lines, arterial lines, blood products, and ports
- Implement IV insulin protocols, titrate insulin/cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Care for ventilated patients, chest tubes, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy management
- Provide neurological and neurosurgical care including aneurysms, craniotomy, lumbar drains, CVA, spinal cord injury, TBI, seizures, and substance withdrawal
- Orthopedic care including total joint replacement, peripheral nerve block catheters, and trauma
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy
- Perform phlebotomy, wound care, isolation precautions, and procedural sedation
- Interpret ABGs and cardiac telemetry, respond to dysrhythmias and rapid response/code situations
- Licensure: RN Maryland state license (active)
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years preferred; first-time travelers accepted - Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, CPI required - Other Requirements:
Comfortable floating within ED border/MS/T/IMC units, able to handle high‑acuity, fast‑paced patient care; EOW and holiday coverage required

Wide variety of ED admission patients including cardiac, orthopedic, neuro, endocrine, GI, renal, oncology, and trauma cases - Number of Beds: 47
- Daily Census:
Minimum 10 boarders, up to 32 boarders daily - Number of Visits Per Day: 130
